Traveling While Black

Guys, please let me know, if Im the only one…

When I travel, it’s a natural instinct of mine to look around and see if I or my family and I are the only black people. When I see another black person I get a sense of comfort like “good I’m not the only one”. 9 times out of 10 we usually are the only ones and it saddens me because why can’t I ever see a bunch of my people experiencing other countries. It is the norm to see Asians or Caucasians, but why not African Americans 😕. Granted, I definitely believe it has been an increase on people of color traveling, but it’s still sooo many of us with out passports even 🤦🏾‍♀️.

We gotta break out of this box that they try to keep us in. Let them see our faces, our culture our natural hair, our beautifully melanated skin. We gotta get out the hood and into the world!

You never know what you may find in another country, you just may even find yourself
