For The Love Of Quotes

The simplicity of quotes is what makes them enjoyable. They are so simple, yet so profound.   A good quote will have you thinking and re-evaluating your whole life lol, a good quote will give you an “Aaahaa” moment.

One of my favorite quotes is “Our life is only a reflection of what we allow ourselves to see” ~Trudy Symeonakis

This quote makes me reflect on all the things I’ve been through, all the people I’ve come across, and all of my experiences, and I ask myself “What did I see and believe in order to have gone through those things ?

What do you allow yourself to see ?

I honestly believe that because I was exposed to traveling at such a young age it opened my eyes to so much more that this planet had to offer. I feel like it allowed me to think outside of my surroundings and know that there is Soo much more to life than just what goes on in my little “hood”. Growing up in a “not so good area” it’s easy to get caught up in that environment, but I am glad that my mother exposed me to more than just America, even when I didn’t want to go to different places. Not only vacation environments, my grandmother used to take us to churches and we would serve and feed the homeless.  This changed my outlook as a child that even though we lived close by, we were not in the same place.

Interacting with people from all over the country, different race, religion, economic status and ages allowed me to see things from different points of views.  With many early traveling experiences, I allow myself to live freely. When I say freely I mean, allowing myself to follow my dreams (As you start to walk out, the way appears–Rumi). It is Sooo scary how many people “play it safe”. I’m definitely not that type of person, and when someone tries to give me advice that I should “play it safe” I look at them like they are crazy and think this person must be living a miserable ordinary life lol (A ship in port is safe, but that’s not what ships were built for–Hopper). I honestly see myself living an adventurous, spontaneous, extraordinary life, because I know that I can. (“Life is a blank canvas, and you need to throw all the paint on it you can.” ― Danny Kaye)

I try to allow myself to be available for all that life has to offer, the good and the bad. And that’s the thing people are so afraid of failing or getting turned down. But I believe that’s the beauty of it all ! If someone denies you of something or tell you “you do not meet the standards, you do not qualify” the best thing you can do is prove them wrong ! Especially in this critical world we are living in. You have to believe in yourself and know that you are capable of anything you put your mind to (Always be the first rate version of yourself instead of a second rate version of someone else-Garland).  And when you are confident, and you beat all odds … Guess what ! That’s when they regret not seeing your potiential 😊 … ( Their loss)

I suggest that you use these quotes (or you can find some of your own that best suits you) and apply it to your everyday life.  Talk to yourself and ask yourself how can you live by these quotes.  Anytime you feel yourself getting off track or if you doubt yourself, revert back to the quotes and watch how your thought process change.

(These are just a few things that work for me so maybe it can work for you as well)
